As the sun rises on a new Toastmasters year, District 114 stands at a pivotal moment—not just of transition, but of transformation. With the appointment of a new leadership team for 2025–2026, a fresh era begins, defined by clarity, purpose, and a unified call to action: Unleash Potential. Build Legacy.
This isn’t just a theme. It’s a mindset.
At the forefront of this year’s leadership is District Director Demelash Wondimagegn, DTM, a leader whose style is deliberate, structured, and deeply human. Known for his strategic insight and calm resolve, Demelash brings more than experience—he brings vision.
“We are not just managing a district. We are shaping a legacy,” Demelash affirms. “Everything we do this year must reflect the standard we uphold: excellence.”
Alongside him stands a capable and mission-driven team:
Margaret Njoroge, DTM – Program Quality Director – is a passionate developer of people and programs.
Jude Benda Matsiko – Club Growth Director, a grassroots builder with a heart for community and club vitality.
Together, they form a cohesive District Trio determined to model what leadership looks like when service meets strategy.
Setting the Standard: Model of Excellence
The tagline for the year—‘ Model of Excellence’—is more than just branding. It’s a benchmark. From club meetings to district-wide events, the leadership team is committed to setting high standards not for perfection, but for progress that lasts.
That begins with intentional planning. Even before July 1, the new team embarked on a month-long transition that resulted in:
- A clear and sustainable District Budget
- An inclusive, achievable District Success Plan
- A communication strategy designed to empower, not just inform
- Bold growth targets, including the chartering of 15 new clubs in Quarter 1
This early momentum sends a strong message: District 114 is not easing in. It’s launching forward.
Mentorship at the Heart of Leadership
One of the team’s core priorities is mentorship—not as an optional program, but as a fundamental part of our culture.
The District aims to build mentorship structures that don’t just check boxes, but light fires:
- Fires of confidence in new members
- Fires of purpose in experienced leaders
- Fires of legacy in every Toastmaster who chooses to serve
Through coaching, feedback, and storytelling, the District seeks to reconnect every member to their why, because when members lead with purpose, clubs thrive with impact.
A Call to Every Member
This leadership year isn’t about a few at the top. It’s about every Toastmaster in District 114—from the first-time speaker to the seasoned mentor—stepping into the arena of potential and choosing to leave it better than they found it.
You are part of this legacy.
Whether you lead a meeting, sponsor a new member, serve on a committee, or simply show up consistently, your role matters. The District Trio is not here to lead alone; they are here to lead with you.
Final Word
The 2025–2026 Toastmasters year is not business as usual. It is an invitation—to rise, to serve, to leave something that lasts. With a strong leadership team, a clear vision, and a shared commitment to excellence, District 114 is poised for a year like no other.
So, let’s begin.
Unleash Potential. Build Legacy.
Because here in District 114, we don’t just talk about excellence. We model it.
